Global Federation War Act Empty Global Federation War Act

Post by Apepistan Fri Jun 12, 2015 6:34 am

Greetings!

This is the proposal to elevate the war system discussed in the following topic https://globalfederation.forumotion.com/t18-global-federation-guidelines-of-war-suggestion to GF Roleplay Law.

The following suggestion is purely OOC:

Global Federation War Act

1. News posts (troop movements, battles, events, etc.) must be posted in a separate thread that is dedicated for solely this purpose, from now on named war threads.

2. Every war thread must have a person who will overwatch the events, and will make arbitary decisions about them if needed (from now on named war mod, according to the calculated score of both sides (from now on named battle score)

3. War mods must be neutral to the conflict they are overwatching.

4. Battle scores must be calculared via the following method:
Battle score calculation:

5. War mods can freely decide the outcome of a battle according to the battle score, as the battle score doesn't give an exact result of a battle, it is for showing the power of each side, so it will be easier to decide.

6. Every news post in the war thread must include the number of troops deployed, per unit type, and a map showing unit movement.

7. Nations on one side of the conflict are not allowed to post before the war mod or the other side has given an answer to the previous posts.

8. The latest technology useable is the latest technology that exists IRL.

9. Naval battles use the same calculation in battle score, except they operate with the number of ships instead of the number of troops/thousand.

10. Army size must be calculated by using the Defense Forces (Nationstates stats)*Population/100,000 formula [DF*Pop/100,000]

- - - - -

Examples and further clarifications were provided in the thread linked above.

Thank you for reading.

Edit: Added clarification for naval engagement in point 9.

I've edited the proposal, in order to be suitable for calculating naval battles.

9. Naval battles use the same calculation in battle score, except they operate with the number of ships instead of the number of troops/thousand."

Would you mind if we added that army size calculation can be done by using the DF*Pop/100,000 formula?

Because that's technically not part of this region yet, even though we've been using it.

I've added it as the 10th point.

This form of regional government doesn't work very well does it. I mean one pf the councillors is Zanland who might as well not exist anymore.

What powers exactly does the president hold other than the title?

On topic, the amendment makes sense and I'm still in favour.

I guess you posted this on the wrong topic, but I'll answer.

The president is the executive power - however, you're right, as it stands now the regional constitution doesn't describe his powers, it's mostly a nominal title. However, if it's executive, the president is responsible for enforcing the laws of the region. Meaning that if we'd have a peacekeeping force, or anything like that, the president would be leading it.

GF Constitution wrote:The Executive branch shall consist of only one position, the President of the Global Federation. This position will be largely honorary, but the President will be expected to mediate in conflicts, and de-escalate them before a judge is required. The President also has the perk of being able to select a judge

If something's bothering you with this form of government then create an amendment.
If something's bothering you with this form of government then create an amendment.
It doesn't bother me, especially not enough for me to warrant even considering to write an amendment. Effort!

Just highlighting its pointlessness.

On topic again is this post going to vote? Is it in vote? Are we going to regulate some active councillors?

A Council member must bring it before the council chambers.

To answer the other questions: Lockdownn already quoted the part of the constitution that I was about to. In it, it does say the title is largely honorary, which may change in the future as more laws are made. Inactive councilmen is something I saw in the WA and tried to deal with by making them dynamically elected here. That means we replace them as soon as there is a viable replacement.

The proposal is already up for vote and has been for about a week. Nobody has voted except for me so I can't figure out what you're trying to do in this thread.

If you want to bring a proposal to vote, quote it and post it in the council chambers, the same way I have done.

Clearly I hadn't seen its been up for vote... And got tired of people posting on here it should go up for vote... And voted.

Is that not fairly obvious?

I realise I can quote things up to vote. But thanks for reinforming me guys.
