Post by Lockdownn on Sun May 03, 2015 10:37 pm

Petition Act 2015
_______________________________________________________________________________________________
This act will provide the lawful allowance to bring anything into public petition.
_______________________________________________________________________________________________
(Section 1.) When a nation decides that they want an executive action to take place whether it be the removal or immediate amendment of a proposal, or a banjection of a nation, they can then decide to submit a public proposal for a petition for an immediate executive action.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(Section 2.) For a petition to be cast, on must first submit it to the judges of The Global Federation who will then deliberate amongst themselves whether it should be considered for voting on the council. If the judges agree to allow the petition to pass, it will hit the council voting floor where it can be voted down by the council's members.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(Section 3.) If it passes the voting floor of the council, the petition must be submitted to the head representative for approval. The head representative does have the power to veto the petition but if their actions are found to be not legally binding or with good reason then a case can be brought against them.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(Section 4.) Once it is approved by the HR then it may be submitted for public vote. Once on the floor, any member registered on the forum and on the map for at-least a week can vote. Voting will last for Three full days or  seventy-two hours. If the votes against tallied after the voting has completed outweigh the votes for then it will automatically be dismissed. If it is passed then it will be sent to the President of The Global Federation for final Approval. Orders then will be sent to the founder if banjection is in order. Orders pertaining to a proposal or a case will then be sent to the appropriate receivers.

I know, I'm trying to make it more realistic instead of "here's a petition, sign it and move on now."

Also, I'd appreciate it if we could all speak IC in these sub-forums to give it a more government meeting feel.

Can't really make a proposal about banjection IC. We can make it a requirement to speak IC on IC proposals, though.

True.

It took me maybe 10-20 minutes to devise this so yeah, I thought it would've had a worse public response xD.

I'm trying to give it the theme of the American system but still ours. Like incorporating the tedious task of trying to get something to pass.

I'm thinking we could incorporate this system into the proposal submitting process to give it a more realistic feeling all while making sure it gets passed to its perfection.

This legitimises the process and give rules. We commend the honourable representative of Lockdownn and motion this to be moved to the council for voting.

I withdraw my motion. Judges should hold no part in the legal process of laws, other than if a nation decides to tackle a case with a law being unlawful and therefore dispute it through the court.

Judges shouldn't be able to decide whether a law should go to the council for voting.

I'll submit this.

I really can't apologize to everyone enough for my constant inactivity! Myself or someone else should have submitted this a long time ago!
