Long ago, present-day Apepistan was populated by semi-nomadic tribes, constantly waging war against each other. Millenias ago, external threat has forced these tribes to form an alliance against those who wanted to opress them; this, however, was only a temporary situation. As soon as the invaders were defeated, the old conflicts of the tribes surfaced again leading to war. This self-defense system soon became tradition, and was practiced for centuries, and became the core of the state which would be later known as Apepistan.

The way to establish a solid state was to find a permament reason for the warrior-tribes to unite. For these people, that reason was of course war. Legends claim that a chief named Ahet Apep was leading the defending armies of the tribes against an invading power, but did not disband the alliance after the threat was defeated; instead he conquered new lands and organised yearly raiding parties against neighbouring states, forming a tribal confederation. At the peak of his power, he was crowned to be king of Apepistan, and the leaders of the nation are ever since using his name instead of their given one.

As the later rulers of Apepistan conquered neighbouring kingdoms, the Ahet Apep was claimed to be king of kings; this policy of supressing nations and merging then into the United Kingdoms of Apepistan is what makes most of the apopic history, and is still alive in the present.

The United Kingdoms of Apepistan however did not remain on the semi-nomadic level technologically, these warlike people constantly research and adopt new technology, even if it's not militaristic in it's nature. Everyone and everything is supporting the military (at least in ideology), economy, education, all social policies, healthcare and welfare are all being improved in order to make the state stable and strong in all possible aspects, so it is able to constantly wage war.
