Drafted Divinity - A Demigod RP (Signups/OOC)
- Intro:
- Stories of mythological tales and triumphs fill our modern libraries and textbooks, from the trials of Hercules to the adventures of Odysseus in the Aegean Sea. Legends like these are only seen in scripture and folklore of old (and new) and we are led to believe that they're all fairytales.
They aren't.
Divine beings and races exist within our world, but are well-hidden under the eyes of normal society - and for good reason; in the high times of the Enlightenment, people began to believe that religion and divine offspring were unnecessary for human advancement, some even believing that they were a plague on humanity then anything else. These specific people were among those who initiated and spearheaded the Salem Witch trials and similar hunts for special beings in the colonial era. The rest of the world shunned this group of people for being too violent and drove them into secrecy, forming an organization known as Highbrand. Members were tasked with (discreetly) dispatching agents into the field against suspected or known demigods/mythical creatures and purging them from this world.
But this invisible war of theirs has gone on longer then initially intended.
The year is now 2029, and agents of Highbrand have begun to slide deeper and deeper into their hatred for demigods, conducting house raids, mass executions and other actions akin to a military dictatorship. The leader of Highbrand, now the leader-elect Paul Oscenfold, publicly denies responsibility for these incidents, but many associates and others affiliated with Highbrand are beginning to wonder if things are getting out of control. Demigods, on the other hand, are usually indifferent to the conflict; many stay hidden and enjoy uneventful lives, but look for some sort of thrill. Demigods like you don't usually turn down offers to eliminate a few agents for some money or other services. Whether it be for family, friends, lifestyle or other, the game for you is one of risk, but much larger reward.
This is where you come in.
Something is happening to Highbrand that spells disaster for both your way of life and the lives of all others if it continues unchallenged. Equipped with powerful relics and with no word from those above, you hear rumors from one of your contractors of Highbrand members congregating regularly in a small church just outside of Chicago; their intentions are more dire then other meetings at other places, so interrupting may turn the tables on Highbrand or seal your fate. It's your choice.

- Vulgar language is allowed, but keep it to a minimum (unless your specific character's personality calls for it)
- Do not Godmod. Do not Metagame.
- Do not assume control of NPC's that aren't yours.
- RSVP Before Inactivity. PM me beforehand and save us all the hassle. Three days absence will leave your characters open to OP/Co-Op control if plot development is required, and will earn you a strike. Five days plus with no explanation will have the player removed from the RP.
- Be nice, be respectful, be adult, no one has a right to be rude, and don’t let your having fun stop other people from having fun.

Personality: Cornelia developed a borderline psychotic personality in the early stages of her life. Separated from her family at a young age, she relied on the presence of other, more dangerous thieves and murderers. Her dialogue can range anywhere from quiet and stoic to raving and violent in a heartbeat; this unpredictable behavior set her high above those around her and secured her dominance in the lowly streets. As such, Cornelia developed a sense of authority believing that if someone wasn't beneath her, they would be in time. Those who resisted her and refused to cooperate would face her wrath. Constant exposure to gambling, violence and drug and human trafficking have distorted her views of society. Deep down, she believes that she can make the world a better place but knows no other method of doing so then through killing and selfish deeds.
She approaches most situations with sass and sarcasm and (more often then not) sees everything ending with some form of victory in her favor. Cornelia does not accept defeat so easily and if she does, she plans to rectify it as soon as possible.
Biography: At the age of five, Cornelia was separated from the usually unified Ulixes family and found herself lost in the dark and cold, nightly streets of Rome. She started to learn and adapt to the violent and corrupt ways of the underground thief networks and gangs. Initially, she used her charm and feminine wiles to get by. But at the age of 17, she has picked up the craft of weaponsmithing and easily crafted two heavy-duty pistols, nicknaming them Spring and Fall; when questioned by one of her friends about the names, she said that shooting someone with Fall would just kill them and shooting them with Spring would free their soul.
It was the first time she had realized what she was and it was this discovery that sparked her curiosity in ancient Roman mythology. She visited various temples across Rome's seven hills, but always found herself drawn more often to the temple of Mars. Cornelia claimed to her accomplices that she was hearing voices in the temple, loud commotions of swords and shields banging and slicing at each other as if a massive battle were taking place. Despite her colleagues dismissing her claims as fallacies, Cornelia continued to make regular trips to the temple of Mars, sometimes praying for hours on end and without food or water. As time passed, Mars finally came to her in a vision clear as day on her 21st birthday; he warned that Higbrand members had caught wind of rumors of Cornelia being a demigod and had sent a contingent to her headquarters to slaughter anyone associated with her - and her included. She returned to fend them off, but suffered massive wounds and burns to the majority of her face and right arm. Her fellow thieves and assassins were so inspired by her bravery that they crafted her custom armor to hide her scars and retain her foreboding appearance. She thanked them by taking them out on a week-long Highbrand hunting spree.
After her killing frenzy, Cornelia again returned to the temple and asked Mars for guidance. Silence was all that came back to her; Mars had abandoned her. To this day, Mars has not come to Cornelia for anything - and she doesn't let go of that fact.

Mythological Origin: Crafted by Cornelia on her own. On a visit to Mar's temple after the killing spree, she left them there as offerings, proof that she had been taking the fight to Highbrand members and now wanted to live a peaceful life. Returning once more to pray to Mars, she found Spring and Fall hovering in the air where she usually knelt down to pray, a sign that Mars knew that her work wasn't complete.

Ability: Spring and Fall are equipped with special heavy penetrating bullets that can puncture any light to medium armor with ease. However, every time she empties an entire magazine into innocents, the pistols sap her of her psyche and damage her mental state more and more. Mars controls the degradation so that Cornelia can potentially slip into true madness at any moment, but just enough to keep her from harming any more innocent people.

Would it be possible for me to use to Kronos as my divine parent? I'm trying to think of a way it could be possible... Is there any way we could just overlook his imprisonment?

As long your parent is a part of some mythology, it's fair game. The logic behind it all, however, is up to you to justify.

He has copper-coloured eyes, and is about 2,2 meters tall, wears strong leather boots with copper toeguard, simple brown, thick linen pants, and a light-brown shirt. Rézfi has a huge world tree tattoo on his back.
He carries his Rézbunkó with himself, and a hungarian-style leather bullwhip.
Powers:
- Superhuman strenght: (don't imagine the Hulk or Superman... For example Rézfi can uproot a small-medium sized tree, or shape light-medium metals (like copper, bronze, or softer iron) with his bare hands.)
- Superhuman endurance: Rézfi has a rough and strong body - he can endure injuries that would render a normal human incapable of fighting. He is far from being invincible though. His endurance makes him also able to become less tired, especially from physical work.

His voice is rough and loud. He likes simple things and likes to keep a distance from modern technology. He isn't dumb or a brute though, he simply doesn't know technology well - but he tries to solve things with his brains before using his immense strength, unless angered. Rézfi is completely oblivious towards modern slang and new words, and might confuse new expressions with insults.
Biography: Rézfi was born as the son of Hadúr, and was raised by his father. As Hadúr is the blacksmith of gods, Rézfi learned the art aswell - as he began shaping the sacred metal of Hadúr, copper, at an early age, and had all his kids' toys made out of copper aswell, he was named Son-of-the-Copper, or, Rézfi, in his language.
Later, when he became an adult, he forged the Rézbunkó (Copper Mace) together with his Father, and then Rézfi moved out from the Copper Forest (domain of Hadúr), to live as a farmer-blacksmith-forester. He lived a traditional life, in peace and harmony with the land and the wild animals.
One day he went to visit his father and relatives in the Copper Forest, and by the time he returned, he saw his house, stall and mill, his whole farm burnt to the ground, his animals slaughtered, his forest still burning at some points. Furious, thristing for revenge, he set out to the world in order to find whoever is responsible for this, and make them pay dearly for destroying his life.
Ever since then, Rézfi wanders around the world and battles evil if he encounters it, and helps those who need help.

Biography: Jon was born on December 21, 2013. His father was Ull the Nordic god of winter, hunting, hand-to-hand combat, and the willow tree. His mother was a Norwegian woman named Sylvia Snø. Ull wasn't always around while Jon was growing up. He popped in from time to time with gifts for him and his mother. On his 12th birthday Ull gave Jon his bow as a coming of age present and told him to use it for whatever he needed to. Since he is the son of Ull, Jon was naturally gifted with his archery skills but always kept improving his skills. On his 15th birthday Ull gave Jon the Quiver of Anariel, which was linked to Jon's mind and allowed him to summon any type of arrow he wanted, magical or non magical, instantly just by thinking about it.
